Battery Information

FAQs

1. Why is the battery is not charging?

Always check the battery switch is in the ON position when attempting to charge, or it won't take charge.    The battery light is always red, but the charger light will be red when charging and green when fully charged.

In addition we recommend routinely charging the battery or keeping it partially charged while not in use.  Letting the voltage drop too low for too long could cause damage.

2. Can the battery be charged while in use?

This is fine.  Some models will require a Y adaptor to charge while providing power to devices.

3. Can I use a different charger, car/solar etc?

We don't recommend this, but it is possible.  It will not be possible to charge as fully as the original charger can.
With solar it's important to use an invertor to avoid over current.   Any other charger eg. a 12v adapter would charge less fully than our chargers do: eg to 12v instead of 12.6v.

4. Can batteries be customised?

We can arrange this for larger orders.

To charge:

1. The battery must be in the ON position when charging. The battery will not charge otherwise.

2. Plug the adapter into the wall and the DC connector into the battery.

3. The light on the adapter will be red when the battery is charging. When the battery is fully charged, the light on the charger will turn green.

Charging time can take up to 8 hours depending on how depleted the battery is.

The battery has circuitry to prevent over-charging, over-discharging and short circuit.
